August & September
We are welcoming our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students with a story about Mr. Fish's first day of school, and he's feeling nervous. The students went on the journey with Pout Pout Fish that lead him to his teacher, to his classroom, and to the discovery of the joy of learning. 3rd - 5th grade students have been reading about a a little boy (Wallace Bluff) who spends his summer out west...on a ride, a rope, and a roundup he'll never forget. Ask your child what happened in the stories that they have been reading. Who the character of the story is, what happened in the story, what the setting of the story is. This will allow them to recall information and hopefully give details about the story.

Our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students have read about a witch and her cat flying around on aday that the wind was blowing wildly. The wind caused the witch to lose some of her belongings and luckly, three helpful animals helped her to find them. All the animals wanted in return was to ride on the broom with her. Then a dragon appeared and tried to catch the witch. The animals saved her and the witch made a magnificent broom that they would fit them all.
Our 3rd through 5th grade students read about a Cat, Squirrel and Duck that lived together in a cabin. They loved to make pumpkin soup and each one had a specific job when making the soup. One day Duck decided he wanted to do a different job and was told he could not. He got angry and left. Cat and Squirrel tried to find Duck but could not so they headed back home. They were so excited to find Duck had come home and they were all friends again and made Pumpkin Soup.
